Join us on May 18th from 6pm to 8pm in the high school band room for Marching Band Open House and Commitment Day! This will be a time for students and parents to "drop in" at their convenience and get fitted for new marching shoes, order new gloves, turn in commitment forms, and pay band camp fees early (there will be a discount offered if paid in full on this day). A detailed cost breakdown for camp fees and band/guard essentials is attached. Fun, customized band accessories will also be available for purchase. Mr. Garland will be here to answer any questions.
We will be changing the marching shoes back to a shiny black shoe this year. These shoes are more cost effective than the shoes that the band has previously worn, and these shoes can be worn as dress shoes for band concerts throughout the year, as well. Because of this change and to keep a uniform look, ALL students will need to order new shoes this year. The representative from Marchmaster will be here that night to get everyone fitted for the new shoes. We will need some parent volunteers to assist with shoe sizing and collecting forms. We will also be sizing and ordering "tech wear" to wear under uniforms for all games. The tech wear will consist of a lightweight tshirt and nylon shorts. Examples of each of these are attached below. The tshirts will be a lighter material and be cooler in the summer months, and then later in the colder part of marching season, black leggings and long sleeves can be worn under the tech wear. This will create a uniform look for everyone, and will save their show shirt from needing to be worn under the uniforms. The vendor for the tech wear will be here on May 18th and have some size samples to allow students to try on and order the correct size(s).
